DESCRIPTION

Whether you carry concealed, shoot competitively, or have a passion for the 1911 platform, following a dedicated maintenance schedule is an important part of 1911 ownership.

Your instructor brings extensive Gunsmithing experience in the 1911 custom and specialty services industry and will highlight cleaning efficiency and how to detail-inspect your 1911, to ensure optimum performance.

TOPICS

  • Basic Armorers’ Inspection – safeties and general operation
  • Basic Field Maintenance – stripping, cleaning and reassembly
  • Intermediate Slide Maintenance – disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly
  • Spring Replacement – intervals and what to look for
  • Magazines – maintenance and inventory
  • Lubrication – oil vs. grease
  • Function Check – feed, fire, extract, eject
  • Live Fire – function confirmation and ‘zeroing’

REGISTRATION/RSVP

Open to NWCSA Members and shooters interested in IDPA, Bullseye and other Competitive events. Participants should have basic operational knowledge of their specific firearm.

  • Open 4/1 at 12:AM through 5/22 at 12:PM
  • RSVP seating counts down from 40.  **The last 10 seats will be Waitlisted**
  • Only 1 ‘guest’ count per RSVP. Each attendee must register with a separate name and email
  • If you cannot attend, please notify the organizer to accommodate waitlisted members

MATERIALS

  • Writing Materials – pen, paper, etc.
  • Eye and Ear Protection – required
  • Firearm – a functioning 1911 and magazine(s)
  • Ammo – 50+ rounds KEEP IN VEHICLE (range instructions will be provided)
  • Cleaning Materials (solvent, lubricant, patches, rod, etc.)
  • Nitrile Glove (recommended)
  • Snacks, fluids, appropriate clothing (optional)
