Open to RSO’s from our Feb or Nov ’23 NRA RSO Course

Description

The Range Safety Officer Practical Training class will apply RSO coursework to the range. Instructors will help RSO’s experience time ‘on the firing line’ with controlled live fire.

Topics include:

  • RSO vs. Match Director – different roles and responsibilities
  • Who is in charge during a match
  • Match commands
  • What RSO’s are looking for while supervising a match
  • Challenging scenarios RSO’s may encounter and how to manage them
  • Emergency Response Procedure

Prerequisites

  • Private Class – only certified RSO’s from either our Feb or Nov 2023 NRA RSO Course will receive an invite

Preparation

Check-in: 8:45AM Main Clubhouse (light refreshments provided)
Start: 9:00AM class overview followed by practical training on the Rifle Range
End: 1:00PM
Required:

  • Eye and ear protection
  • NRA RSO Course Manual + writing instruments, notepad
  • Weather appropriate gear (outside/standing)
