OVERVIEW
What is Action Pistol?
Action Pistol shooting originated in southern California in the late 1950s and is a competitive sport where a shooter engages targets in an obstacle course as quickly and accurately as possible. The sport combines the principles of precision, power, and speed. Firearms used are typically service pistols chambered in 9mm or 45ACP. It is a challenging game that also provides fundamentals for personal defense.
At NWCSA we host Action Pistol in several different formats with IDPA being the primary. All matches offer friendly competition, and we welcome new shooters. There are no awards or cash prizes, rather we compete to improve our skills and have fun. Our matches run March through November and are listed on club calendar.
