DESCRIPTION:// For NWCSA Certified Range Safety Officers Only // \nOver the last two years\, NWCSA has implemented numerous improvements to the operating procedures at our shooting ranges. As a result\, we have made several important changes to our range safety practices. \nTo ensure that NWCSA Range Safety Officers can manage our events effectively\, our Safety Committee will conduct two (2) Training Update classes to cover our range improvements and our corresponding range safety practices. \nRSO Requirement \nThe Safety Committee has determined that NWCSA RSO’s certified in 2022 or earlier\, must attend a Training Update class in order to maintain their club RSO designation. \nRSO’s certified in 2023-2025 are exempt from this requirement. \nDate: Sat June 14 or Sun June 22nd\nTime: 9:00AM – 1:00PM\nSign-in: 8:30-8:45AM\nLocation: Clubhouse \nRegistration \nImportant: registration is unique to each class. DESCRIPTION:Description \nThe Junior Marksmanship & Safety Program introduces new shooters\, ages 10 through 17\, to basic marksmanship (KNOWLEDGE\, SKILLS\, and ATTITUDE) in a safe\, disciplined environment. \nDetails \nThis program is Free* with No previous experience necessary. \nCertified Training Instructors teach basic firearm safety\, range safety\, and marksmanship fundamentals using .22 caliber target rifles and related materials. \nParticipants will learn the fundamentals of shooting positions\, sight alignment\, trigger control\, breath control\, and proper cleaning & storage. \nImportant Notes \n\nOpen to the Public\nA Parent or Guardian must be present to sign the youth waiver form and help their child during the course\nParticipants may attend more than one date; the curriculum is the same and repetition supports knowledge retention and skills improvement\n\nQuestions? \nFor more information or to register\, contact a Youth Marksmanship & Safety Program organizer. \n\n*Northwestern Connecticut Sportsman’s Association is committed to the promotion firearms safety and the enjoyment of Shooting Sports for future generations.
