SUMMARY:2026 Ingvertsen Veterans Charity IDPA Match
DESCRIPTION:This match will use Rifle\, Pistol\, and Plate Ranges in addition to Action Pistol Pits\nThe International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) was founded in 1996 with the goal of creating an action shooting competition based upon the realistic use of handguns for personal defense. IDPA offers an exciting forum for practical shooters in which truly practical equipment\, techniques and courses of fire are mandated. Prior to IDPA\, there was no place to compete with common service pistols. There were no shooting sports where your concealed carry holster could also be your match holster without handicap. \nThe Veterans Charity Match benefits Canaan VFW who provides aid to area veterans. This will be the Fourth year for this event. We will use 5 ranges and shoot 10 stages total. \nIf you have never shot an action pistol type competition and would like to learn more we offer a no cost 2-3 hour workshop that will cover everything you need to know to be ready for your first match. If interested\, please contact ap@nwcsa.org. \nSafety brief\, pledge\, and walk through of first stages begins 8:45AM. \nPlease arrive 45-60 min before match start time to register and gear up. \nPlease note that pre-registration and payment is required on Practiscore.

Expectations and protocols are reviewed with students/parents at/during each session.\nSafety is the #1 PRIORITY during NWCSA Archery Programs. \nWhat if the student can not attend both days?\nThe class is formatted to build on previously taught skills\, so it’s is best to attend both sessions. If you must miss a session due to a personal situation\, we can not guarantee a spot in a future class. \nCan I transfer my student’s spot to another person?\nYes\, as long as you notify the Organizer prior to the class. SUMMARY:Cowboy Action Shooting Match
DESCRIPTION:Cowboy Action Shooting (CAS) originated in 1981 and is rooted in the history of the Wild West\, aiming to replicate the types of firearms and shooting styles used during that period. \nEncouraged to dress in period costumes\, participants use single-action revolvers (most commonly Colt SAA and reproductions)\, pistol-caliber lever action rifles (Winchester 1873/1866 reproductions)\, and old-time shotguns.
