SUMMARY:Silhouette Match | 'Buffalo and Bucket'\, Centerfire Cast Bullet
DESCRIPTION:Long range shooting with centerfire rifles at steel plate silhouettes of a Buffalo and a “Quigley Bucket” at 200 yards. \nThe silhouettes are suspended in a heavy metal frame with heavy chains. There is a sensing system attached to the target that detects when the target is hit by a bullet and flashes a strobe light which can be seen back at the firing line. \nTwo classes of rifles are used: Scoped Rifle and Iron Sight Rifle. Action types are: exposed hammer\, single shot rifles (Sharps\, Winchester hiwalls\, Remington rolling blocks); bolt action sporting or military rifles; lever action rifles. Calibers are minimum of 6.5 mm\, with common ones being 6.5 x 55 Swedish\, .308 Winchester\, .30-06 Springfield\, and the old blackpowder calibers like .38-55\, .40-65\, .45-70\, .45-90. Bullets must be Cast LEAD only\, no jacketed or half jacket bullets. Powder can be smokeless or blackpowder. \nRanges are – 200 yard open sight\, 240 yards for scope. \nThe Buffalo silhouette match is shot first. The Buffalo is about 4 ft long and 2 ft tall. Competitors are given unlimited sighter shots\, either from the bench or standing\, to verify windage and elevation. \nAfter the sighters\, the shots for record commence\, all from the offhand or standing position. \nEach competitor comes to the line\, and for the first elimination gets 3 shots maximum to hit the silhouette target. If he/she hits the target in 3 tries or less\, they continue to the next elimination. If they do not hit the target in the first 3 shots\, they are disqualified and are out. \nNext\, the remaining shooters get a maximum of 2 shots to hit the target. If they hit the target they move on\, otherwise they are out. \nFinally\, the last remaining shooters are allowed a maximum of one shot to hit the target. If they hit it\, they move on to the next elimination and the last person to hit the target with a single shot WINS. There is one winner in the Scoped Rifle category and one winner in the Iron Sight category. \nAfter the Buffalo Match\, that metal silhouette is taken down and replaced by the Quigley Bucket target. This match follows the same course of fire. The ‘bucket’ is an almost-square piece of steel plate about 18” wide and 20” high\, hanging from chains in the same metal frame. \nStarts out at 3 shots and down to last shooters at 1 shot each until there is only 1 winner.

SUMMARY:PCSL EDC Pistol Match
DESCRIPTION:This is a 6-stage Everyday carry (EDC) match. Our custom rule book draws heavily from the PCSL rulebook with modifications made to encourage the use of common concealed carry equipment. Rulebook can be found here. The divisions are designed around common concealed carry pistols.  Please read and familiarize yourself with our divisions and concealment requirements for this match. Competitors are expected to come with EDC appropriate gear and concealment.  Leave your competition rigs at home\, gear up like you are going to Wally-mart\, there will be NO FULL sized firearms allowed at this match. \nClosed front concealment will be required\, so come prepared. The shooting will be more freestyle\, you decide how you’re shooting the stage. Most engagement will be in the open with no priority on targets. You will be limited to 10 round magazines\, but you will not be limited to the number of them you carry. The round count might be as high as 25 on these stages. You will be allowed to drop ammo and reload in the open unless otherwise specified in the written stage briefing. \nSafety brief\, pledge\, and walk through of first stages begins 8:45AM. DESCRIPTION:We are offering a training opportunity for candidates interested in becoming an IDPA Safety Officer. Candidates must meet the following qualifications: \n1. Be at least 21 years of age and be able to lawfully possess a firearm under the laws of your country of residence.\n2. Be a current IDPA member in good standing for at least six months and never have had their membership revoked.\n3. Have shot at least six IDPA matches\, at the club or sanctioned level.\n4. Possess a basic knowledge of the IDPA rulebook.\n5. Be sponsored by an IDPA-affiliated club representative that can confirm the applicant’s ability to safely handle a firearm and who is willing and able to provide designated mentor SOs committed to training the graduate SO. \nIt is important that you confer with the club representative/Match Director at the sponsoring club prior to applying to confirm their willingness to sponsor you. \nYou will be required to pass an online pre-test then attend this 8-hour class. The class is split into a morning classroom session then on the range for at least part of the afternoon.

DESCRIPTION:Cowboy Action Shooting (CAS) originated in 1981 and is rooted in the history of the Wild West\, aiming to replicate the types of firearms and shooting styles used during that period. \nEncouraged to dress in period costumes\, participants use single-action revolvers (most commonly Colt SAA and reproductions)\, pistol-caliber lever action rifles (Winchester 1873/1866 reproductions)\, and old-time shotguns.
