DESCRIPTION:Description \nThe traditional 25M Rifle Marksmanship clinic is Project Appleseed’s most popular. Led by experienced instructors\, you will learn the fundamentals of rifle marksmanship. You will develop the skills needed to hit your targets consistently with precision and accuracy. Our lessons include topics of rock-solid positions\, sling use\, effective dry fire\, efficient sight adjustments\, and more! \nThis program teaches the rifle marksmanship skills that were once commonly practiced in America. Our instructors teach the skills that will one day allow a Rifleman to be accurate out to 500 yards. This distance is known as the traditional “Rifleman’s Quarter Mile” and has been part of America’s marksmanship repertoire since our country’s earliest days. \nDuring breaks\, you will hear true stories about the day the American Revolution began and changed the course of history. Learn about some of the real men and women that lived during those times and their unflinching bravery they showed fighting for the freedoms they held so dear. These stories will change the way you view marksmanship and liberty. \nWhether you’ve never fired a rifle or you’re an experienced competitive shooter\, no one comes to a Project Appleseed event and leaves the same. SUMMARY:Rifle Silhouette Match | 'Buffalo and Bucket' + Handgun
DESCRIPTION:Classes: Rifle and Handgun \nBullets must be Cast LEAD only\, no jacketed or half jacket bullets. Powder can be smokeless or blackpowder. \nThe Buffalo silhouette match is typically shot first. The Buffalo is about 4 ft long and 2 ft tall. Competitors are given unlimited sighter shots\, either from the bench or standing\, to verify windage and elevation. \nAfter the sighters\, the shots for record commence\, all from the offhand or standing position. \nEach competitor comes to the line\, and for the first elimination gets 3 shots maximum to hit the silhouette target. If he/she hits the target in 3 tries or less\, they continue to the next elimination. If they do not hit the target in the first 3 shots\, they are disqualified and are out. \nNext\, the remaining shooters get a maximum of 2 shots to hit the target. If they hit the target they move on\, otherwise they are out. \nFinally\, the last remaining shooters are allowed a maximum of one shot to hit the target. If they hit it\, they move on to the next elimination and the last person to hit the target with a single shot WINS. There is one winner in the Scoped Rifle category and one winner in the Iron Sight category. \nAfter the Buffalo Match\, that metal silhouette is taken down and replaced by a ‘Quigley Bucket’ target. This match follows the same course of fire. The bucket is an almost-square piece of steel plate about 18” wide and 20” high\, hanging from chains in the same metal frame. \nStarts out at 3 shots and down to last shooters at 1 shot each until there is only 1 winner.
