Open Range Day to Benefit Military Charity, the Fisher House Foundation

The Northwestern CT Sportsmen’s Association, 177 Winsted Norfolk Rd., Rt. 44, Winsted, CT (on the Colebrook, Norfolk town line) will open their rifle and pistol ranges to the public to sight-in and shoot their firearms on Saturday, October 6, 2012. The rifle and pistol ranges will be open for the public’s use from 9am until 1pm. A suggested minimum donation of $15.00 per shooter is requested and all proceeds will be donated to the Fisher House Foundation which benefits military personnel and their families.

Members of the military and their families are stationed worldwide and must often travel great distances for specialized medical care. Fisher House Foundation donates “comfort homes,” built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers. These homes enable family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful of times – during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury.

All shooters are required to wear eye and ear protection while in the range facilities or shooting. Range Safety Officers will be on duty to ensure safe conditions exist. Food and refreshments will be available for sale.
