OVERVIEW

The Northwestern Connecticut Sportsmen’s Association, LLC (NWCSA, Association, Club) requires
All Persons who enter Club Property to Read, Understand, and Adhere to – All NWCSA Rules
.

This includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Members
  • Member Guests
  • Public Event Participants, and
  • Other Authorized Property Users

General/Safety Rules are listed below
Range Specific Rules are listed on individual NWCSA Facilities Pages

Any person who does not Understand the Rules, should request immediate clarification.

Anyone who disagrees with the Rules, or plans to intentionally violate the Rules, should not enter the Property.

Enforcement

The Association is ‘self-governed’ by its Members. While on the Property, Any Member has the authority, and the responsibility to act on behalf of the Association and:

  1. Inform any person of any rule violation
  2. Offer guidance to correct a violation
  3. Submit a Safety/Incident Report if a violation persists, either intentionally, or unintentionally

Safety is Everyones Responsibility

Failure to Read, Understand, and Adhere to NWCSA Rules, may result in
Permanent Removal, Serious Injury and/or Death!

Property & General Rules

All Persons Shall:

  1. Posses a valid Connecticut Firearm Permit
  2. Sign-in/Sign-out using the Log Book (in clubhouse)
  3. Wear NWCSA assigned badges
  4. Wear Eye & Ear Protection on all ranges
  5. Adhere to posted shooting hours – 9AM to Sunset

No Persons Shall:

  1. Consume Alcoholic Beverages or Controlled Substances
  2. Enter NWCSA property while under the influence of Alcohol or Controlled Substances
  3. Use Tobacco, or similar products (ie. vape), inside any building, or, On/Near any firing line
  4. Shoot at Wildlife unless designated by ‘season’

Firearms Safety Rules

  1. ALWAYS Keep your firearm pointed in a safe direction
  2. ALWAYS Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you are ready to shoot
  3. ALWAYS Keep your firearm unloaded and on safe until you are ready to use
  1. Know your target and what is beyond (see NWCSA target restrictions)
  2. Be sure your firearm is safe to operate
  3. Know how to use your gun safely
  4. Use only the correct ammunition for your firearm (see NWCSA ammo restrictions)
  5. Never use alcohol or controlled substances before or while shooting (see NWCSA property restrictions)
  6. Store firearms so they are not accessible to unauthorized persons
  7. Wear eye and ear protection as appropriate (required on all NWCSA ranges)
  8. Be aware that many firearms and shooting activities require additional safety precautions (see additional range specific requirements)
